Stefanowski Upsets Boughton In Republican Primary Race For CT Governor
Related story: Ned Lamont Wins CT Democratic Primary Race For Governor Former General Electric executive Bob Stefanowski upset GOP-endorsed candidate Mark Boughton, the mayor of Danbury, according to unofficial returns in the Connecticut primary race for governor. With 90 percent of the votes counted, Stefanowski was leading Boughton by 29 to 21 percent. In a wild and crazy day, perhaps fittingly held at Foxwoods, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton held off a strong challenge from former Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst and a strong showing from Stamford native Steve Obsitnik of Westport to win the Republican Party's Convention endorsement for governor at the casino in Mashantucket. Boughton Back On Job After Collapsing At GOP Gubernatorial Candidates Event
Mark Boughton is back on the job just in time for St. Patrick's Day.The 54-year-old Boughton, Danbury’s longest-serving mayor, was hospitalized after collapsing from dehydration at an event Thursday for Republican gubernatorial candidates.
