Body Of 58-Year-Old Man Found Floating In Water At Jones Beach, Police Report
An investigation is underway after the body of a 58-year-old man was found floating in the water at Jones Beach. The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau responded to a report of a body in the water at the west end of the beach in Wantagh at about 6:20 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, the Nassau County Police Department said. Police pulled the man's body out of the water and found that he was unconscious and was not breathing, NCPD said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A child had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital after being struck by an allegedly intoxicated jet skier off the shores of Jones Beach on Long Island, police said. Nassau County Police Marine Bureau officers responded to the Sloop Channel in the area of Jones Beach Field 10 at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 in Wantagh, where there was a report of an 8-year-old swimmer who had been struck by a jet ski. Body Found Floating In Long Island Sound Near Unoccupied Boat
The body of a man was discovered in the Long Island Sound near an unoccupied boat. It happened in the Gold Coast area along Long Island's North Shore on Sunday morning, May 17. At 8:20 a.m., police in Centre Island received a call about the boat floating in the water. The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau and Nassau County Aviation Units responded along with the assistance of the United States Coast Guard and the Bayville Fire Department.
