Blaze Breaks Out At CT Mall Food Court: Firefighters Still On Scene
A fire broke out at a mall in New London County, causing flames that could be seen from the roof of the building. The blaze started on Thursday, Feb. 2 around 10:40 a.m. at the Crystal Mall in Waterford at 850 Hartford Turnpike (Route 85), according to Waterford Professional Firefighters Association Local 4629. The fire originated in the food court, causing smoke and flames to erupt from the building. New Bed Bath & Beyond Store Closures Include Fairfield County Location
Struggling home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond has announced 56 new store closures that it says will be implemented by the end of the calendar year. The closure list includes two locations in Connecticut: Fairfield County: Ridgeway Shopping Center, 2275 Summer St., Stamford New London County: Waterford 850 Hartford Turnpike, Waterford The company is due to report its results for the second quarter later this month. Two Lucky CT Residents Win $50K Each In State Lottery
A pair of CT Lottery players are feeling lucky after cashing in tickets worth $50,000 that were sold at area convenience stores. Lottery officials announced that in New London County on Monday, Jan. 10, Oakdale resident Russell Bowen cashed in a winning “Powerball” ticket worth $50,000 on a ticket sold at Henne Penny Hartford Road 23 on the Hartford Turnpike in Waterford.
