Flu Kills Seven More In Connecticut; Officials Say Worst Is Over Seven more people have died as a result of the flu since last week in Connecticut, according to the state's Department of Public Health. As of March 10, 119 people have died since Aug. 2017 -- 98 were above 65 years old. Flu activity is past the peak in Connecticut but remains widespread, according to this week's update.  DPH Commissioner Dr. Pino says the worst of the season is over, but there are still a few more weeks of flu activity to get through.  He urged people to continue to take precautions in avoiding, contracting or spreading the illness.
