Road Closures Scheduled In Ridgefield During Ex-Chief's Funeral
With services scheduled for Ridgefield Police Chief John Roche on Friday, there will be road closures and delays for the funeral procession as it travels through town. Less than a week into his retirement following nearly four decades servicing the community, the former chief died last week. No cause of death has been released. Police: Suspect Used Counterfeit $100 Bills At Five Ridgefield Businesses
UPDATED: RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield Police are investigating five separate incidents of someone using counterfeit $100 bills in town last week. Police said that the counterfeit bills were passed at businesses located on Main Street, Governor Street, Bailey Avenue and Catoonah Street. All the incidents took place on Friday, Jan. 5 between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. In all five incidents, the suspect bought an item valued at $30 or less, and paid using a counterfeit $100 bill, police said.
