The event will take place in the Trumbull High School auditorium on 72 Strobel Road from 8:30 to 10 a.m. with veterans, local dignitaries, educators and the senior class of Trumbull High in attendance. Patriotic music will be provided by the school’s Chamber Singers and Golden Eagle Band.
The keynote speaker will be Robin Montgomery, chief of police of Brookfield. As a Marine Corps officer in Vietnam, Montgomery was twice wounded in action, and was awarded the Navy Cross, the nation’s second highest award for valor in combat.
In 2013, he was inducted into the Connecticut Veterans’ Hall of fame. Following his Marine Corps service, he spent 26 years as a Special Agent of the FBI where he was involved in crisis management at the national level, and interviewed President Reagan after the President was shot in 1981. From 1994 until his retirement in 1997, he was a Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Critical Response Group.
Montgomery has been Police Chief in Brookfield for the past 15 years.
The laying of wreaths will take place on the Town Hall Green on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
