Any graduating senior who is a resident of Trumbull (may be a student in another town) can apply for these awards. In total, the club will award $16,000 in scholarships.
Scholarships are given to those students who best exemplify Rotary International's motto "Service Above Self." Emphasis will be placed on participation in volunteer activities. The committee will also consider academic performance and financial need.
Completed application packets must include the following:
- Completed application
- Transcript
- Letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor
- Letter of documentation of volunteer work
The application deadline is Monday. Envelopes must be postmarked no later than that day. Mailed applications not received by April 21 will not be considered. Mail the completed packet to: The Rotary Club of Trumbull, Dr. Philip Lane, Scholarship Chairperson, P.O. Box 283, Trumbull, CT 06611.
Rotarians participate in community service to improve life in the Trumbull community and meet community needs. Rotarians participate in club service by attending meetings and serving on a variety of committees for fundraising, service and membership.
Rotary International has grown to more than 27,500 clubs worldwide. The Rotary Club of Trumbull has 75 members and meets at 7:30 a.m. Fridays at the Trumbull Public Library.
