New York Times Spotlights The Farming Culture In Easton

EASTON, Conn. -- The rural town of Easton, with about 7,500 residents, is unusual in Fairfield County with its 20 farms, says the New York Times.

The rural setting is what initially attracted the owners of Sport Hill Farm in 1997, when they purchased the property with its 18th-century house, says the New York Times.

Others, including a New York City commuter who moved his family there from Stamford, like the "peaceful, rural feel," of Easton, says the New York Times.

Visitors, too, are attracted to Easton. Families converge by the hundreds on Silverman’s Farm to pick pumpkins in October, and the annual Easton Farm tour in August is popular.
