Hedge Fund Co-Founder's Redding Estate Sells For Record $13.6M

REDDING, Conn. -- An estate in Redding that belonged to hedge fund co-founder Jerrold Fine has been sold for $13.6 million, a record, reported the Wall Street Journal.

The property, called Deer Run, was first listed in 2012 for $27.5 million, and lately for $19.5 million, reported the Wall Street Journal.

The house, built in the 1980s, is Mission-style with seven bedrooms and nine baths, and has pools inside and outside, a basketball court, tennis court and billiards room., according to the Wall Street Journal.

The seller sought a buyer who would preserve the open space on the property, instead of developing it, said the Wall Street Journal.

The previous house sale record in Redding was when filmmaker Barry Levinson sold his home for $12.2 million in 2012, said the Wall Street Journal.
