Home sales increased 83 percent in Monroe and 43 percent in Stratford. They were among the leaders in the final quarter for the year in Fairfield County, which saw an 8 percent increase in sales.
In Monroe, 55 homes exchanged hands, while Stratford reported 153 transactions.
Home sales fell 8 percent in Trumbull and 2 percent in Shelton.
The median sale price increased 2 percent in the fourth quarter in Stratford compared with the same timeframe in 2014. The MSP increased 9 percent in Trumbull, and fell the same amount in Shelton. The MSP increased 2 percent in Stratford.
For the year, the median sale price for a home in Shelton fell 4 percent, to $300,000. Monroe’s MSP increased 1 percent, to $344,000, while the MSP fell 1 percent in Trumbull ($365,000) and Stratford ($226,000). The county median sale price fell 3 percent in 2015, to $445,000.
