Trumbull's Rutigliano Talks Government With Daniels Farm Students

TRUMBULL, Conn. — State Rep. David Rutigliano (R-Trumbull) visited fourth graders at Daniels Farm School last week, after some of the students sent his legislative office letters about banning exotic pets in Connecticut.

A few months ago, these students wrote Rutigliano asking him to support legislation that would ban exotic pets and invited him to come speak to the class about this topic and other state and local government issues.

When he spoke with them, Rutigliano thanked Ms. Littlefield's class for taking the time to write on the topic, and said he was glad to see youth so civically engaged.

"I would have to agree with these smart fourth graders: these animals are better served by being left alone in the wild," he said. "Personally, Connecticut has seen first-hand the tragic things that can happen when people keep exotic animals as pets."
