Jeffrey Raucci, vice president of Bismark Construction, and his wife, Jeanette Raucci, donated the money between 2009 and 20011 while failing to disclose their position as state contractors, according to the Post.

The state Elections Enforcement Commission's decision ignited a brief war or words between local Republicans and Democrats, with both sides hurling accusations at the other, according to the Post.

The Republican Town Committee, which accepted the money in violation of state law, was ordered to forfeit the donation to the Connecticut General Fund, according to the Post.
