TRUMBULL, Conn. — Trumbull Democrats have selected Vicki Tesoro, a member of the Board of Finance and a long-time town volunteer, as their nominee for first selectman.

“I am honored by the confidence expressed by my fellow Democrats,” said Tesoro, who was nominated Sunday. “I am proud of the outstanding citizens who will join me in running in November. Our slate of candidates truly represents Trumbull. Democrats, unaffiliated voters and former Republican leaders are joined in our mission to make Trumbull even better and return civility to our Community.”

Tesoro was twice elected to the Town Council, where she served as minority leader. She is a founding member of the Trumbull Partnership Against Underage Drinking and Drugs, Trumbull PTSA Council president, an advisory board member of the Academic Challenge for Excellence and a former member of the Board of Education Policy Advisory Committee.

In addition, she is a past PTA president of Tashua School, Madison Middle School and Trumbull High School.

She is an income tax professional and has lived in Trumbull for 26 years with her husband Tom and their two daughters.

She was nominated Sunday.
