Redding Pols To Square Off During Debate For State Government Candidates

REDDING, Conn. – The Redding League of Women Voters will host a debate next week for local candidates running for the state Senate and state House of Representatives.

The Redding League of Women Voters is to host an Oct. 13 debate for candidates seeking to serve in the state's Senate and House of Representatives.

The Oct. 13 event at the Redding Community Center is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and open to the public at no cost. It is to feature six candidates vying to represent Redding in state government.

In District 26, incumbent state Sen. Toni Boucher (R) is challenged by Carolanne Curry (D). Candidates William Duff (R) and Raghib Allie-Brennan (D) are both up for a seat in the 135th House District. In the 2nd House District, Adam Dunsby (R) is up against Bonnie Troy (D).

The audience at the debate will be urged to submit questions for the candidates, according to event organizers, who said a three-person panel composed of a Republican, a Democrat and an unaffiliated voter will then selected debate questions from the submissions.

The debate is to be moderated by Colleen Joyce, a local attorney.

The Redding Community Center is located on Lonetown Road. Doors are to open at 7 p.m.
