It would be the third term as Easton first selectman for Dunsby, a Republican, who has also represented Easton, Redding and Weston in the legislature’s 135th House District since January.
Dunsby, who has lived in town since 2002, is the first candidate in either party for Easton’s Nov. 7 election, the Pilot said. He ran unopposed in 2015.

Serving in both jobs “is a great honor,” Dunsby told Daily Voice over the winter. “I wanted to deepen my public service and the opportunity arose to run for the State House."
At the State House, Dunsby said finding ways to fix what he called “the state’s budgetary woes" is one of his top priorities as a legislator.
On the tax side, he said he would like to eliminate the state's estate tax. “Most states don’t have one and people are leaving. Having it in place is probably costing the state money," said Dunsby. He and his wife have four children.
