TRUMBULL, CONN. -- For the first time in 20 years, a Democrat has been elected to head the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission, according to a report in the Trumbull Times.
Commissioner Frederick Garrity -- now serving his second five-year term on the board -- will replace Republican Richard Deecken as chairman, the Times report said.
Among the many issues Garrity told the newspaper he plans to tackle are parking, restrictions on building heights, and making the town’s business zones more uniform.
