All Items Approved At Redding Special Town Meeting

REDDING, Conn. -- At a Special Town Meeting on Monday, April 11, at Town Hall in Redding, about 50 residents approved four motions, according to an article in The Redding Pilot.

Each item up for a vote passed unanimously, The Redding Pilot said.

According to The Redding Pilot, these items were approved:

  • Repairs: Up to $99,000 for the repair of the Umpawaug Schoolhouse and Town Hall Annex buildings
  • Revaluation: Next year’s property revaluation will be funded at $180,000
  • Sanitation: The Health Department’s proposed sanitation code provides statutes to allow for better restaurant inspections and other helpful rules
  • Open space: The Redding Land Trust and State of Connecticut will provide $140,000 each for the purchase of a conservation easement over the Biehn property--a 30-acre parcel which stands at the intersection of Route 53 and Route 107, and the Aquarion company will provide $60,000.
