Trumbull Man Charged In Accident That Sent Town Clerk To Hospital

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Trumbull man was arrested last week at his Pemberton Drive home on charges of taking a rental car without permission for a trip that ended with a traffic crash on Feb. 3, according to the Trumbull Times.

According to police, Hunter Kay, 24, was acting as a driver for an out-of-town businessman when he took the car without permission and his vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck a northbound vehicle with Trumbull Town Clerk Suzanne Monaco and her husband inside the car, said the Trumbull Times.

All three were taken to the hospital with injuries. Kay was charged with using a vehicle without permission. The accident is still under investigation. Kay was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20, added the Trumbull Times.
