Firefighters from Trumbull Center, Long Hill and Nichols fire departments worked for at least 20 minutes to put out the fire at a house on Sunnycrest Road. The call came in at about 11:45 a.m., fire officials said.
In a post on the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 Facebook page, people offered the condolences to the family for the loss of the house, and the family dog.
Trumbull fire officials also had help from the Monroe and Stepney fire departments at the scene, while the Shelton Fire Department covered the Trumbull fire station.
The fire is under investigation by the Trumbull Fire Marshal's office.
