Region 9 School Board Member Charged With Risk Of Injury To A Minor

REDDING, Conn. -- A member of the Region 9 Board of Education that oversees Joel Barlow High School was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a minor last week, according to the Redding Pilot.

Member Sara Sobel, 48, of Redding was arrested along with her husband, 52-year-old Jon Sobel, on Monday, April 17, the Redding Pilot reported. Police did not provide more information to the Redding pilot because of the age of some of the parties involved in the incident. The Police Chief told the Redding Pilot that the incident involved the Department of Children and Families.

The pair were released on $150,000 bonds, and will appear in court on Wednesday.
