Foremost, First Selectman Julia Pemberton said at a Board of Selectmen meeting Monday, is finding ways to attract and keep members, according to the Redding Pilot.

West Redding's department has 20 members running it mostly, Redding Ridge has 45. Both departments take turns covering for paid EMS services weekly in town, and Georgetown has two crews of paid staff in the daytime, and one at night, reported the Redding Pilot.

Redding volunteer firefighters and EMTs who live in Redding get a tax abatement of $1,000 annually, an abatement the IRS taxes, taking away from the benefit, said the Redding Pilot.
