Mark Barrientes, 31, of Leipsic, Ohio, is charged with one count of risk of injury to a child after turning himself into police Wednesday on a March 2016 arrest warrant. He is free on $10,000 bond, and due back on May 4 to Danbury Superior Court, The Redding Pilot reports.

Police said they've been investigating the case since late 2014 when the girl's parents learned of the online relationship. The man is accused of sending explicit photos, along with having inappropriate digital conversations with the teen, The Redding Pilot says.

A Redding detective has been working on the case by engaging in the man's Facebook profile and digital search warrants, The Redding Pilot reports.
