Michel Petit-Frere, 28 of Easton, PA, “refused to leave his vehicle and waved his arms around yelling” before police removed him around 6 a.m., the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

“His eyes were watery and bloodshot, with a strong odor or alcohol on his breath. His speech was slurred,” Pentangelo said, adding that Petit-Frere failed a field sobriety test.

A computer check showed that Petit-Frere, who Pentangelo said has a previous arrest out of Florida, was wanted out of East Orange, he said.

He was being held in the Bergen County Jail, charged with DWI, eluding, resisting arrest, bail jumping and reckless driving, as well as driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
