Police: Route 59 Closed In Easton; Detour Set Up

EASTON, Conn. — Route 59 will be closed for eight to 12 hours overnight, Easton Police said late Wednesday.

A detour was set up from Beers Road to Sunset Road to Southfield Road. The closure was announced at about midnight and could continue through 8 a.m. or beyond, even to noon Thursday, police said.

Drivers are urged to use caution while driving in this area, police said.
