The incident began late Thursday night when Mark Steinfeld went to the victim's house and began yelling and swearing in the driveway as well as on the rear deck of her home, Easton police said.
Steinfeld then broke a snow shovel and struck the window on the rear door, almost breaking it, police said. As he stood on the rear deck threatening to break the window, the victim opened the door, police said.
He entered the kitchen and pushed a water glass off the counter, shattering it, police said. Steinfeld continued to yell and scream obscenities at his ex-girlfriend and her children, police said.
When Steinfeld left the house, he struck the victim's vehicle on the rear bumper with his car, police said.
Police said they were unable to locate Steinfeld on Thursday night.
An arrest warrant was granted Friday. With the assistance of the Fairfield Police Department, Steinfeld was apprehended early Friday without incident at his home on Bloomfield Drive.
Steinfeld was transported to the Easton Police Department, where he was held on $10,000 bond.
He was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening, third-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal trespass. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, Feb. 21.
