Elizabeth Fitzpatrick-Weissman, 53, of 43 Flat Rock Drive, was charged with evading responsibility, operating under the influence and making an illegal U-turn. She posted $40 cash bond and was released to appear in court Thursday.

She was driving slowly north on Route 59 with two cars trailing, police said. Police said that she then stopped her vehicle in the middle of the road with no warning, according to the second driver behind the suspect.

Fitzpatrick-Weissman then made a right turn on to Blanchard Road and then made a U-turn in the road, striking the first vehicle behind her, according to the witness in the second vehicle.

She then drove south on Route 59 with the witness now following her and calling 911, police said. He followed her into Fairfield where she made another u-turn near the GE site to go back north on Route 59. The witness continued following her until police arrived.
