And now you can buy your own TJ plush toy and help the department's K-9 program.
While on patrol in Easton, TJ, a German shepherd, rides with French in a specially designed police cruiser.
In the event of an emergency, French has a button on her belt that automatically opens the car door to allow TJ to exit and assist her.
French and TJ are more than just partners — they work together around the clock. French takes care of TJ on- and off-duty.
The stuffed TJ is a bit smaller than the real one. The plush toy is about 8 inches tall and is a good likeness.
The plush toy costs $20 each.
The toy can be purchased at the Easton Police Department at 700 Morehouse Road or can be ordered online.
It can be shipped to you for an additional $4.50 shipping and handling fee.
If you would like to purchase a K-9 TJ plush toy, call the Easton Police Department at 203-268-4111 or click here to place an order.
TJ is named for a hero: U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Todd “T.J.” Lobraico Jr., 22, of Sherman who was killed in action in Afghanistan on Sept. 5, 2013.
The Easton Police Department's K-9 program received a $40,000 grant in October 2016 from the family of Ann and Kenneth Gleszer of Danbury, who made donations to area police departments for K-9 programs.
