Nichols Fire Dept. Raffling Off Ride To School At Open House In Trumbull

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The Nichols Fire Department is hosting its annual open house on Sunday, Oct. 9, and a very special prize is being offered this year.

Trumbull students can win a ride to school in a fire truck, through a raffle.

Participants can see a fire-hose squirt; see the "Jaws of Life" up close; experience the fire safety trailer and room fire demonstration; learn about stove safety and more.

There will also be hot dogs, apples and apple cider -- and pumpkins for the kids to take home.

Then event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire house, 100 Shelton Road, in Trumbull.
