Motorcyclist, 68, Killed In Crash In Monroe

MONROE, Conn. — A 68-year-old motorcyclist died after he was struck by a 2003 GMC dump body pickup truck in Monroe on Saturday, according to NBC Connecticut.

The fatal accident occurred near the intersection of Shelton Road and Wheeler Road.

Russell Curtis of West Haven was riding a 2011 Harley-Davidson west on Shelton Road when he was hit by the truck pulling a trailer traveling north on Wheeler Road at about 10:20 a.m., NBC Connecticut said.

Curtis died of his injuries at Bridgeport Hospital, NBC Connecticut said. The road was closed for about an hour for a police investigation, but no charges had been filed, NBC said.
