The Stepney Fire Department and Monroe volunteer firefighters responded to the two-car crash near Farm View Road about 10:30 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the Monroe department.

Firefighters found the adult and child trapped inside the rolled-over car, according to officials. Both crash victims were rescued and taken to an area hospital by the Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service.

The crash -- the second rollover town firefighters handled over the weekend -- brought broken utility poles down onto Purdy Hill Road and forced officials to close the street for several hours, according to officials.
