Man Charged With Stealing 180 Cans Of Beer From Monroe Store

MONROE, Conn. -- A Waterbury man was arrested on charges of trying to make off with dozens of cans of beer from the Big Y supermarket in Monroe, according to the Monroe Courier website.

Christopher Reardon, 45, was confronted by store security as he tried to leave the store without paying for six 30-packs of beer on Thursday, Jan. 28, the Courier said.

Reardon tussled with the employee and fled the scene, the Monroe Courier said.

Shelton officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle heading north on Route 8, and State Police eventually stopped him on I-84 in Waterbury, the Courier said.
