Long Hill Crews Attack Kitchen Fire In Trumbull Home

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Smoke was coming from a home on Frederick Street in Trumbull as crews from the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co. responded to a report of a kitchen fire early Friday, according to the department's Facebook page.

The fire was reported at about 6:10 a.m. Friday. 

When Long Hill crews arrived at 12 Frederick St., the found a one-story ranch dwelling with smoke showing from the eaves and garage doors. 

The firefighters attacked the blaze with a line through the garage and into the kitchen, the department said. 

They knocked down all visible fire, keeping it contained to the kitchen. 

The Trumbull Fire Marshal is investigating the cause, and the Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.

Crews were assisted by the Trumbull Center Fire Department, Nichols Fire Department and Trumbull Police. 

Crews remained on the scene for about two hours. 

No injuries were reported.
