Michael Pinto, 55, is the husband of a Stamford police officer, and was arrested in August following a joint investigation by the Monroe Police Department and the Stamford Police Narcotics Unit. Police said that the Stamford Narcotics Unit had begun an investigation into cocaine sales with connections to Monroe, and developed Pinto as a suspect.

Police executed a search and seizure warrant at Pinto's home on Driftwood Road in August, where they found cocaine packaged for sale, loose prescription medications, weapons, and cash, police said. He was arrested at that time on drug charges.
As police continued their investigation, they found that one of the handguns that had been seized was reported as stolen, police said. A new warrant was obtained for Pinto's arrest, and he turned himself in on Thursday.
Pinto was charged with theft of a firearm. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond and was given a court date of Nov. 13.
