Fairfield Teen Charged In Connection With Fiery April Crash In Redding

REDDING, Conn. -- A Fairfield teen was charged Wednesday in connection with a fiery crash on Route 107 in Redding that seriously injured six teens, according to the News Times.

The crash occurred on April 14 when a Jeep hit a tree and caught fire. All the teens involved in the crash were from Easton, Fairfield and Redding and were seriously injured, and the road was closed for several hours while police investigated.

The driver of the car, 18-year-old Ryan Capozziello of Fairfield, turned himself in on a warrant on Wednesday, according to the News Times. He was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, and five counts of second-degree assault, the News Times reported.

Capozziello was released after posting a $100,000, the News Times reported.
