Easton's Zoologist-Turned-Cop Leaving For Conservation Job

EASTON, Conn. - After five years with the Easton Police Department, Officer Glen Fergason, is turning in his badge and going to work for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the Easton Courier said.

Officer Glen Fergason is leaving the Easton Police Department to take a job as a conservation officer with the state.

Fergason, dubbed "Easton’s chief resident zoologist," will be be a conservation officer for the state, the Courier said.

"We would like to take this opportunity to say good luck to one of our own. Officer Glen Fergason has accepted a position with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection," the Easton Police Department said in a Facebook post. "Although we are sad to lose such a wonderfully dedicated officer, we are certainly happy to continue to work closely with our friend. Congratulations!

He has a bachelor's degree in zoology from Oklahoma State University and spent 10 years working at the Bronx Zoo before joining the Easton Police Department, the Courier said.
