Crashes, Fires Make For Busy Christmas For Monroe Firefighters

MONROE, Conn. -- Firefighters in Monroe had a busy Christmas, responding to several events throughout the day.

A crash on Main Street at the Trumbull town line involved a minor extrication, according to the Stepney Fire Department. It was the fifth call of the day for the Stepney, Monroe and Stevenson Fire Departments. Other calls included a tree fire caused by contact with power lines, and an oven fire.
