Rodolfo Revello, 43, is accused of breaking into the boy's Trumbull home, choking his estranged wife, and making off with his son and thousands in cash and jewelry, the CT Post reported. The kidnapping sparked an Amber Alert across Connecticut and New York for the boy, who was snatched from his bed.
Officials found the boy hours later after Revello left him with relatives in Queens, N.Y., and called the police.
Revello has a long criminal history. The Connecticut Post reported that the estranged wife had a restraining order against Revello, who is on federal probation in connection with supplying the Latin Kings gang with cocaine that they sold in the Stamford area in 2011. In that case, he was sentenced to 60 months in prison in 2012 and released in September 2014, the Post said.
Online state court records also list convictions for assault, disorderly conduct and driving under the influence and one pending case on a charge of breach of peace.
Anyone with information on Rodolfo Revello or his van, a 2015 white Ford Transit with Connecticut license plate number C040379, is asked to call Trumbull Police at 203-261-3665 or to call 911.
