Trumbull Man Allowed To Sue State Over Mishandled Divorce Case

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Trumbull man will be able to sue the state after receiving approval from the state House and Senate following a seven-year fight to do so, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Connecticut House and Senate voted to allow a Trumbull man to sue the state for a case in which an attorney he had a complaint against was allowed to resign.

Daniel Lynch was denied the right to sue the state in a case involving what he says was a mishandling of his right to recover damages from an attorney, the Post said.

The case stemmed from Lynch's 2009 divorce proceeding in which he said the attorney, Stanley Goldstein, committed misconduct and missed deadline filings, said the Connecticut Post.

Lynch will seek at least $200,000 in his suit against various state employees and officials who allowed Goldstein to resign from the State Bar, added the Connecticut Post.
