Simpaug Turnpike at Route 7 and Fire Hill Road will be closed, as will Topstone Road at the Ridgefield line and Bayberry Lane, police said. Closing signs have been posted and motorists should seek alternate routes.

The roads are closed to thru traffic while the Department of Transportation and Metro-North completely replace the crossing surface. Metro-North Police will staff the crossing 24/7 as workers will be at the site all day and night through the weekend. Redding Police will also be assigned.

There is maintenance scheduled for May for the crossing surface at Long Ridge Road. That work is scheduled for May 19 and will last until May 25.
