Stolen Jesus Returned To Monroe Store With Fresh Coat Of Paint

MONROE, Conn. -- A 5-foot statue of Jesus that had been missing since last Wednesday from a Monroe store was returned Sunday with what appears to be a fresh coat of paint, according to the Connecticut Post.

Last week, the owners of Angels & Co. on Route 25 received a telephone call telling them that the statue was gone, according to the report.

The 50-pound, $600 statue was gifted to the store owners by an elderly customer, which gives the piece substantial sentimental value, according to the report.
