The 950 solar panels will convert sunlight into DC current, which is then converted into AC current by the use of inverters, said the eastoncourier.com.

The solar farm came to fruition after town officials signed the Clean Energy Communities Municipal Pledge that requires cities to reduce municipal building energy usage by 20 percent by 2018, reported the eastoncourier.com.

The farm will account for 15 percent of Easton's total electricity use, the story said.
