Among the projects approved was $1.4 million in public works, $658,500 for highway vehicles, $568,000 for Water Protection Control Authority projects, $451,200 for needed upgrades and repairs to the Trumbull Police Department, $400,000 for city engineering, $250,000 to restore Beaches Pool and $190,000 to install a new roof at the Trumbull Library, said the Trumbull Times. At the same time, a $398,000 project to update Long Hill Green and $197,000 for repairs to the senior center were denied, said the Trumbull Times.
Also, amid the $2.5 million in cuts was $250,000 to build a new playground at Indian Ledge Park, which some residents say creates a safety hazard for children, added the Trumbull Times.
