Bruce Silverstone, Aquarion Water Co. vice president of corporate communications, said the company donated the new 12-car parking lot to provide better public access to the property, added the Easton Courier.com.
The Aspetuck Land Trust, which manages the property, said the parking lot is part of their effort to improve parking areas for visitors to Trout Brook Valley and to improve conditions for neighboring homeowners by taking parking off public streets, said the EastonCourier.com.
The trust, a nonprofit land conservation organization, maintains 44 trailed nature preserves and other conservation properties in the towns of Westport, Weston, Fairfield and Easton.
