Monroe Mom Who Let 10-Year-Old Drive Car Gets Special Probation In Case

MONROE, Conn. -- A Monroe mother who was charged with letting her 10-year-old son drive through town while she broadcast on Facebook, has been granted a form of special probation, according to the Connecticut Post.

Lisa Nussbaum, 38, was charged in March with risk of injury to a child after police received several complaints from Monroe residents who viewed the video, according to police.

The Connecticut Post reported that at Nussbaum's sentencing on Friday, a judge granted her accelerated rehabilitation, meaning that she did not plead guilty to the charge but was placed on probation for two years. If she does not commit another crime, the charge will be dismissed.

Superior Court Judge William Holden lectured Nussbaum about the seriousness of the incident, and ordered her to cooperate with a state Department of Children and Families investigation, according to the Post.
