Dwight Jarvis waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of distribution of cocaine base, better known as crack, said U.S. Attorney for Connecticut Deirdre M. Daly.
On Oct. 27, a search of Jarvis’s Monroe residence turned up 29 grams of cocaine, 25 grams of crack cocaine, 70 dose bags of heroin, and other items used to process and package narcotics for street sale, according to court documents and statements made in court.
Jarvis was arrested on a federal criminal complaint on Dec. 16 and is free on $100,000 bond pending sentencing, which has not yet been scheduled.
The offense carries a maximum of 20 years in prison. He pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in Bridgeport.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation by the DEA’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and Milford Police Department.
The task force includes members from the Bridgeport, Stamford, Stratford, Norwalk and Milford Police Departments, and the Connecticut State Police. The Monroe Police Department assisted in the investigation.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Douglas P. Morabito.
