TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Bridgeport Hospital OB/GYN pulled over to the side of the road and delivered a baby on Route 25 in Trumbull Thursday afternoon, according to the Trumbull Times.
Dr. Ronika Choudhary was on her way to the hospital when she received a call that the patient was about to deliver, the Trumbull Times reported. Since both were traveling on Route 25 on their way to the hospital, Choudhary spoke to the patient, pulled off to the side of the highway and waited for the patient to reach her, according to the Trumbull Times.
When the patient pulled up to Choudhary, the doctor jumped into action to deliver the baby, who was crowning, according to the Trumbull Times. She delivered a healthy baby girl before ambulances showed up, hospital officials told the Trumbull Times. Both the mother and daughter were doing well, and there were no complications, the Trumbull Times reported.
