Be Vigilant: Malloy, State Police Reassure Connecticut After London Attacks

Connecticut State Police were monitoring developments after a deadly terror attack in London late Saturday, while Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy reminded residents to remain vigilant.

As of 11 p.m. Saturday, NBC News was reporting that six people had been killed after three attackers drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and then went on a stabbing rampage at nearby Borough Market. Within minutes, three suspects had been shot dead by officers, NBC News reported.

“Our thoughts are prayers are with the victims, their families, and all those impacted by these senseless acts of violence – we mourn for those who lost loved ones and pray for those who are injured," Malloy said. "While we do not yet know the full details of today’s event, it is an admonition that we must always remain vigilant and is a reminder that if you see something, say something.”

Malloy and state public safety officials are continuing to monitor the situation as its develops and information unfolds.

"There are no known or suspected threats to the State of Connecticut regarding this event," Connecticut State Police said. "As always, we can’t do our jobs alone — we need your help. We urge all members of the public to remain alert and immediately contact police if you observe anything or anyone suspicious or seemingly out of place for your surroundings. Don’t be apprehensive about reporting; it’s better to be safe." 

State police said urgent matters should be called in via 911. Non-urgent reports can be called in to any state police troop, local police department or the tip line at 1-866-HLS-TIPS (1-866-457-8477). Residents can also fill out a Suspicious Activity Report online.
