Norwalk Community College Co-Founder From Redding Celebrates Anniversary

REDDING, Conn. -- Lea Mintz, a resident of Meadow Ridge in Redding, organized and hosted a dinner in celebration of the Norwalk Community College Foundation's 50th anniversary.

A board member for life and co-founder of the college, Mintz has worked with the foundation since its inception on fundraising and numerous other projects. 

The Norwalk Community College Foundation was founded in 1965 and its goal is to raise $5 million over the next year to support students, faculty and college programs. The foundation is currently near 20% of is goal. 

The dinner was attended by college President David L. Levinson; Michelle Bettigole, executive director of Meadow Ridge; Julia Pemberton, first selectman, Town of Redding; Leon Karvelis, Selectman, Town of Redding; Michael Thompson, selectman, Town of Redding; Noemi Salas and Joshua Kleinwacks, Norwalk Community College students who spoke at the dinner; and other members from the Meadow Ridge community.
