Easton Kindness Group To Assemble Backpacks For Homeless Veterans

EASTON, Conn. -- An Easton humanitarian group will celebrate World Kindness Day on Saturday, Nov. 14, by putting together backpacks for homeless veterans.

According to a post on the Facebook page for Easton Connects With Kindness, folks are invited to the Helen Keller Middle School, where the backpacks will be assembled.

The program runs from 2 to 4 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria.

Donations of the following items are needed, the post said:

  • Lip balm
  • Shaving cream
  • Stick deodorant
  • Body wash
  • Nail clipper
  • Socks
  • Gloves or mittens
  • Q-tips

Participants will also be asked to create a piece of art or a card to tuck into the backpacks.

Light refreshments will be served.
