It's Hot Out, And Redding Will Have Cooling Centers For The Weekend

REDDING, Conn. -- With the high temperatures predicted for the weekend, the Redding Health Department has announced two locations that will be open for cooling purposes.

The Mark Twain Library will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, the Redding Community Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Everyone is at risk for heat-related illness, but older adults, young kids and people with chronic conditions are at higher risk. Watch this video from the CDC for more information about dealing with extreme heat.
